Scott Brady

Scott has been training in martial arts his whole life. He achieved his black belt under World champion Kick boxing pioneer Howard Brown. He is now a 4th Degree Black belt. Scott started his martial arts training at age 4 back in 1983, and started competing at age 5. He fought  for many years growing up travelling throughout the UK competing most weekends, and was lucky enough to travel throughout Europe to compete many times. Scott won numerous European, British and National titles. He trained and fought at numerous different clubs and styles growing up which gave him a good understanding on the benefits of cross training. 

Scott is also a level 3 qualified personal trainer, and practitioner of Ashtanga vinyasa yoga, travelling to India numerous times to study and increase his knowledge. His teachings draw on movement, yoga alignment & mobility as a foundation to peak physical performance.

Scott has trained in many different martial art Styles over the years, and has travelled to train with some of the most well respected teachers of this generation. Some of the systems Scott has trained in include full contact karate, Lau Gar kung fu, shaolin kung fu, wing chun, Tang soo do, boxing, combat jujutsu, brazilian jui jitsu, filipino panatukan, submission grappling.

Scott  also has experience in fight choreography for movies. He has featured as a fighter and fight choreographer on numerous feature films. He was recently hired to work on location in Serbia as both fighter and fight choreographer for a feature film.

Scott is a registered instructor under the British Combat Association. A world renowned association.

Scott continues to evolve as a martial artist, and enjoys passing on his knowledge to his students. His club has produced many black belts and world champions, but most importantly continues to produce humble well rounded human beings!

Mike Tingles

Mike Tingles has been training in the Martial arts for over 35 years and to this day his enthusiasm has not diminished in the slightest!! His passion for the the arts is very clear to see and he will enjoy talking to you on anything related to the martial arts.

Mike achieved his black belt under Howard Brown and went on to develop and teach his self defence system drawing on his vast knowledge of the arts and his experience as a doorman at various clubs and bars across Bristol to which he still works to this very day!.

Mike competed at the top level for many years attending all the freestyle circuits and fighting for the ECKA A team back in the day as well as fighting for the Lau Gar. He has won numerous events over the years including national full contact champion.

Mike is our guru at the club imparting his wisdom on any of the kids that will listen!! Mike teaches for Concept martial arts as well as running his own adults self defence classes at the Urban gym.
